"My name is Miguel Zapata, 33 years old, from Paranaque. Right after college, I worked in the Contact Center Industry for 7 years. I started as a Customer Service Representative for Touch Asia in 2005. After Touch Asia, I moved to HSBC where I was, once again, a CSR for Auto Finance, and a Collections Associate for Mortgage. I continued being a Collections Associate with JP Morgan Chase, but this time for the credit card department. I took a break after JP Morgan Chase as I had some family matters that needed my attention. Once I had that settled, I went back to working and joined ADP. I was a Teledata Analyst for small businesses. My main role was to process payroll, and assist both our clients and their employees. I can say that I’ve had a well-rounded experience in this industry as I have been immersed in a variety of line of businesses.
In 2013, I have decided to change environments and switched to a normal day job. I became a Financial Advisor for Generali Pilipinas, which is now known as BDO Life Insurance. This is when I realized the importance of insurance and investments. I also became a Recruitment Specialist for Drake International. We sourced, screened and sent nurses to UK. After that, I joined Wint & Kidd, Inc. as a Marketing and Events Coordinator. I was working closely with the Managing Director, mainly doing general administrative tasks such as generating reports, monitoring and updating client database, research and email management. But my passion for being a Financial Advisor did not stop with Generali Pilipinas. I continued with Manulife Philippines.
2016 was the game changer in terms of my career. It was the year I was introduced to the world of home-based employment. I became a Jr. Systems Engineer for Cornerstone IT, an IT Consultancy company in New York. At the same time, I had my vehicle registered and running for Grab, an app-based ride-hailing company. Despite of the variety of industries I’ve worked for, one of the things that I can be proud of is my flexibility and quickness to learn. I do not fear taking on a new challenge especially if it will add to the experiences and learnings I have accumulated all these years. I am very resourceful and reliable. Lastly, integrity is also a big part of who I am."
