  • General Rules and Regulations

    1. This show will be run under the rules of SAEA, ECHS & the Border Equestrian Club and all relevant rules apply.
    2. The SAEA and ECHS levies of R18.25 and R11.76 respectively have been included in the entry fee.
    3. Results at this show will count for grading points, subject to the approval of the ECHS Official.
    4. All riders to wear protective headgear on the show grounds. Children & Juniors to wear correct restraining harness on hat as stated in rule 12.2.2.
    5. SAEA, ECHS, BEC, ELAAIS and Show Organisers will not accept responsibility for any loss of property, damage or injury sustained by owners, competitors and members of the public or any other person or their property at Border Equestrian Club for the duration of the Show.
    6. The owner of any dog not on a leash will be fined.
    7. No late entries or entries without proof of payment will be accepted. Entries without valid flu and AHS details won’t be accepted.
    8. It is the competitor’s responsibility to check whether their entries have been received.
    9. This is a multi-discipline show and we will make all efforts to make sure classes don’t clash, but if it is impossible competitors will have to choose.
    10. No refund will be given after closing date of entries if competitor scratches for whatever reason.
    9. By entering a stallion at the BEC, the competitor & owner agree to the following conditions & agree to abide by the following protocol:
    a. Competition stallions remain the responsibility of the owner & rider at all times & they are expected to have public liability against any loss, injury or damage that might be caused by the stallion.
    b. It is the responsibility of the owner & rider to ensure that the stallion cannot exit the stable allocated to it on its own/or with the help of another horse or uninformed person.
    c. The stallion may only be removed from the stable during the show for exercise & preparation/competition & only in the presence of a responsible handler or rider.
    d. Under NO circumstances shall the covering of mares be allowed to take place at the BEC premises
    e. All stallions must wear a yellow tag on their bridle’s at all times
    10. For each RIDER riding more than 3 horses, every 4th horse is exempt from the horse levy. This is applicable to "Horses per RIDER", not "Horses per Stableyard or per Owner" if ridden by different riders. If one of the horses is ridden by a Riders' child and the child is under 18 years old, this will count as a horse for the main rider and therefore towards the free horse fee. This will also apply to family members where 2 or more riders are under 18 years and the parents are responsible for entry fees. The 4th horse ridden by either of those under 18 riders will be free.
    - Please contact the BEC if you feel that you should qualify for this free horse discount.
  • Proof of Vaccinations Required

    * ENTRIES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A COPY OF AHS AND FLU VACCINATION DETAILS SIGNED BY A VET *

    - Copies of passports must include the horse ID page and AHS and Flu Vaccination pages
    - Vets accounts or letters must include horse name and AHS and Flu vaccinations dates and batch numbers

    * Proof of Vaccinations WILL BE CHECKED AT THE SHOW. All passports and vets letters are required to be handed in to the judges box BEFORE competing and can be collected after competing
