"I have been working with the BPO industry for almost 11 years now. I started with a telecommunications account that handles billing inquiries, payments and were also assisting customers with regards to their device and network issues. Being a newbie then, I found it very difficult to meet my goals but with the help of my leaders, I was able to deliver and meet the account's expectations.
After a few months, I tried my luck to find an account that will not involve telecommunications anymore. I was hired by another company and handled a financial account that provides auto financing and leasing in North America. This was the job that I enjoyed the most since I have acquired multiple skills, gained knowledge about how financing and leasing is being done in the United States. I took phone calls for almost four years and when they introduced a new line of business, which is live chat, I was one of the pioneers. I learned to be flexible and multi-skilled since we were tasked to accept chat inquiries and still receive calls whenever it is needed. This made me more passionate about doing my job since I was challenged to exceed our client's expectations and made them realize that they chose the best person to do it.
I had to leave the company since I already gave birth to my son at that time. After a few months, I needed to work with a telecommunications account again for another 4 years before I became a healthcare advocate just last year. However, I needed to resign because of the pandemic since they did not have the option for a work from home setup. By then, I decided to start looking for a permanent home based job and was hired by a social media account that does content moderation."
