"In recent years I worked as an IT Consultant/Supervisor for an MSP based in the US. We mainly support small businesses in the medical fields like Dental and Optical clinics; we also have clients in the Hospitality and Delivery services. We took care of anything to do with their Desktop, Network, Server, and SaaS concerns. The main focus was to do remote monitoring/management of Desktops, Servers, and Networks – later, the scope expanded to include managed security, remote firewall administration too.
Here are some of the SaaS we used to serve our clients: TeamViewer and Zoho Assist were used for remote support access along with Splashtop. Now to keep track of our clientele service tickets, we use Zoho Desk along with Zoho CRM, which in turn saved our time for important matters like System administration and the likes. When it comes to email, collaboration, and productivity apps, we opt to use Office 365 with MS teams and SharePoint; these allowed us a smoother workflow and seamless interaction with Clients.
Before I worked for an MSP, I had a pleasure working with two of the well-known ISPs in the US; Time Warner Cable Business class and AT&T, for about six years collectively, so transitioning from an ISP to MSP work environment had its perks. I can now better appreciate the hard work Remote IT personnel (MSPs) put into their craft. Working towards a project, lets you learn a few things, and of course, you may encounter a few hiccups along the way, but it pays off when you see the fruits of your resilience."
