  • Interview Types

Select your preferred interview type. Choose either "In-Person" or "Offsite." If you choose offsite options, you can mix both phone and Skype.
  • Mock interviews are a useful tool for students to receive feedback on their preparation, answers to common questions, professional dress, and more. During this event, mock interviews will be conducted with students at the CREW Center’s Southwest or Downtown campus office by CREW staff or employers in the students’ career field. Students are required to dress professionally and bring their resumes to the event. Students will have the opportunity to 1) to visit the CREW Center to create or revise a resume before the event; 2) submit their resumes to our resume dropbox for review before the event; or 3) receive resume writing tips during a workshop the faculty or staff member schedules with the CREW Center prior to the event.
  • Indicate your preferred location. In-Person interviews are generally held on either the JCTC Downtown campus or JCTC Southwest campus in the CREW Center staff offices. Some exceptions may be made.
  • Employers use phone calls to both pre-screen candidates before offering in-person interviews and to complete the entire interview process, which has been increasing in recent years. Phone interviews with CREW staff members will allow your students to gain experience with this popular interviewing type. Prior to this event, your students will be given a link to schedule their phone interviews, and they will subsequently receive a confirmation email with phone interviewing tips, expectations, and instructions for the day of the event. Resumes are required for this event, and students will receive instructions on how to submit their resume before the event in their confirmation email.
  • Employers are using video interviewing as a way to screen candidates or to conduct the first round interview. There are some similarities between video interviews and phone interviews; however, candidates need to be more aware of the visual surroundings during video interviews. Your students will use the video chatting platform, Skype, to participate in mock interviews with CREW staff members. Prior to the event, your students will be provided a link to schedule their Skype interviews, and they will receive a confirmation email with Skype interviewing tips, the Skype registration process, and technology requirements. For your students to participate in Skype interviews, they must have access to a computer with reliable Internet connection, speakers and microphone—built it or separate—and a webcam to make video calls. Resumes are required for this event, and students will receive instructions on how to submit their resume before the event in their confirmation email.
