  • Having a conviction will not necessarily stop you from volunteering, but will need to be taken into consideration when assessing your suitability.

    Please be aware that as an organisation that works with young people and vunlerable adults all volunteers at the centre are required to complete and undertake an Enhanced Criminal Buruea Check (CRB) before starting. We will give you details on how to do this.

    We need to take up two references on your ability and suitability to carry out this work. Referees should be people who can comment on your work, and can be any adult who has known you for a reasonable length of time.

    To speed up the process we intend to take up references before interview; please tick the appropriate box if it is acceptable. If this unacceptable you will be asked to explain why. You have a right to see your references.

  • This can be your previous manager, a youth worker, a support/care worker, landlord, tutor or another St. Martin's volunteer.

  • Information about visas

    If you are from the European Union, you are free to volunteer in the UK.
    For those from outside the EU, you will need to check that your visa allows you to volunteer. We advise that you contact the UK Borders and Immigration Agency to find out.

    St. Martin's Youth & Community Centre is not able to sponsor volunteer visas.
