I have extensive knowledge and experience in dental terminology. My career in the dental industry began when I was hired as a Customer Service Representative for Metlife Dental, a dental insurance company, by Sitel Philippines. I received calls from dental offices, brokers, and policyholders, providing assistance regarding the detailed breakdown of benefits and helping them understand their explanation of benefits while remaining HIPAA compliant. Through this experience, I gained significant knowledge of dental terminology.
I worked with Opencare, where we verified benefits for dental insurance. Each agent was assigned to different dental offices. We filled out every detail in the insurance verification form, including codes and patient history. We obtained insurance information through the insurance web portal, fast fax, or by directly calling the insurance company. This exposure allowed me to learn about various insurance companies and types of insurance.
With over five years of experience in the dental field, I believe that I have extensive knowledge of dental terminology, ADA codes, and I know how to read, understand, and interpret EOBs from different dental insurances (Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Metlife, Delta Dental, etc.). I also have some experience working with Open Dental, Dentix, and Eaglesoft.
