2017 YALSA/Dollar General Teen Read Week Grant
for an Outstanding Teen Read Week Activity for Teens
  • This grant is designed to encourage outstanding reading or literacy focused Teen Read Week activities by providing financial assistance, while recognizing YALSA members for excellent library services for and with teens. The applicant must plan and present an outline for a Teen Read Week activity that is coordinated by a library. The activity must be open to all teens (12-18 years) and incorporate programming best practices as outlined in YALSA's Teen Programming Guidelines. YALSA encourages innovative proposals that are inclusive of under-served teen populations, including but not limited to teens with disabilities and low-income youth. The $1,000 grant, made possible by Dollar General, is to be used to support the activity. A total of ten grants are available. Individual library branches within a larger system are welcome to apply.

*Applications are due June 1, 2017.*

Recipients will be announced the week of July 10, 2017.
