"I was an Inside Account Specialist for one of the top freight forwarders in the US for more than a year. Basically, we were given leads every week via Excel sheets and we call those businesses and check if they want to book a shipment with us.
We had a quota of 20 shipments per week and 85 dials per day. Aside from prospecting, we also need to answer incoming calls from the clients and assist them in any way possible.
I remember that it was challenging to get pass the gatekeepers to speak with the decision-maker, but I also learned that there are different techniques for me to do it. The most effective one is that I make sure I sound confident especially on the first eight seconds of the call. That made me one of the consistent top performers."
