You must be a Stony Brook University student, faculty, or staff member to request a recording. In addition you must have performed in the recording or have received permission from the performer.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of copies of copyrighted sound recordings. The person submitting this order is responsible for respecting the copyright of the original. In addition, the Music Library reserves the right to refuse to accept a recording request, if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. The Music Library also reserves the right to refuse to accept a recording request if the material supplied would damage Music Library equipment. The Music Library is not liable for damages to any materials supplied.
PLEASE NOTE: Our staff produces recordings when they can spare time from assigned job duties. Your request may take a while to process. We are NOT a professional recording service and cannot promise professional quality recordings.
If/when your request is fulfilled you will receive an email informing you that your recording is ready for you to pick up at the Music Library Circulation Desk.
