"I have been working in the BPO Industry as a customer representative for close to 5 years now. My first customer support experience was with a money transfer company. I basically help customers send and receive money within or outside the US. I also assist them if their transaction needs a minor correction and, in some cases, I also talk to customers who have been fallen victims of fraud.
I then worked for a travel account. This is a booking software company that allows users to show off their activities and rentals online. My role here was to help manage and assist resort owners so that their website is working properly and that they have enough itinerary available online for their tourists to book on. I've also worked with another travel account but this time we’re working with hotels. We’re a third party travel account that helps hotels get online bookings and give travelers rewards for their stay. As a customer representative, my job here is to make sure that the travelers/guest gets the accommodation that they booked for. I also get to answer calls from guests who need their booking canceled or changed.
Lastly, I've also worked for an international food ordering business whose aim is to help small restaurants thrive through online ordering. Our company builds their website, their mobile application and makes sure that their menu is set up correctly. My job here comes in when a customer calls/emails/chats to look for their order, if they need something changed and if they want to cancel it. I also get calls from restaurant owners if they need their menu updated, if they need their business hours changed or if they want to set up closures for whatever reason.
Working as a Customer Representative is a fun experience for me. With the pandemic around, I have decided to leave my office job and look for something convenient to do while being at home. Aside from the competitive pay and the privilege of working while enjoying the comfort of home, I want to know what it would be like to be a work-from-home employee.
