How much hiking do you do throughout the year?
I never go hiking.
I walk often on flat ground.
I go out hiking once in a while but never for more than a few hours.
I am an avid hiker but most of my experience is with day trips.
I am an avid hiker and have done several overnight trips.
For this specific trip, how much hiking would you like to do each day?
Hike 3 hours or less (cover <10 kms)
Hike 3-4 hours (cover 9-12 kms)
Hike 5-6 hours (cover 12-18 kms)
Hike 6+ hours (cover 20-25 kms)
Hiking time will vary considerably due to weight carried, distance, terrain, elevation gain and loss, weather, etc. Just give us a rough idea how long you want to be on the trail.
How hard do you want to go?
I would like a flat but scenic walk.
I want a trail in good condition with moderate elevate gain.
I want to go hard. I want a difficult and sustained hike and cover lots of distance.
I don't mind scrambling and route finding.

I don't enjoy camping.
I go car camping every now and then.
I have been wilderness camping a couple of times and enjoy it.
I go wilderness camping all the time and love it.
I am familiar with the principles of wilderness “leave no trace” camping.
I own most of my own gear (tent, sleeping bag/mat, cooking gear).

I know how to obtain and interpret a weather report and make good decisions about when and when not to travel.
I can read a topographical map and interpret its symbols, contour lines, orientation and scale.
I know how to use a compass by itself.
I know how to take a compass reading and orient the reading with my map.
I can use a map and compass together to determine a direction of travel.
Will you want help creating a menu?
No, I enjoy that aspect and will do it myself.
