"I started my Customer Service experience straight out of college and until now I am working in the same industry. My first job as a customer service agent was for a telecommunications company in the US under Charter Telecommunications. From my short-lived experience with Charter, it taught me to be patient since most of the customers we speak with are really upset about their bill so we would need to help them understand their bill. However, the account didn’t last long when they filed for bankruptcy and decided to close.
After Charter communications, I was referred by my supervisor to work with a health insurance company where I stayed for almost 5 years as a provider service representative. Most of the people that I would speak with were doctors and medical professionals that would ask about their patient's benefits and coverage in their insurance. I could say I’ve grown to love the account which made my stay in the company really easy. One of the reasons why I enjoyed working with the company is because of my superiors that never failed to encourage us to do the best and would always acknowledge us every time we surpass our scores. However, the only factor working why I decided to leave the company was because I had to rent out a room near the company to work since it’s far from my home.
When I decided to enjoy the comforts of my home while working I started out as an online English teacher to Chinese students, because of my teaching experience I was able to develop my grammar and pronunciation that helped me land another job. The most recent customer service job I have and taught me how to multi-task emails, and chats while answering phone calls. It also tested my technical skills since while working at home you won’t have an IT specialist with you to check what might be wrong with your equipment. I love working for the company however, it is not a stable job that can give me a job all year round since they are only looking for seasonal agents to work for them during spring.
If given the chance to work with your company I can share the experience I gained for almost 9 years as a customer service agent. The patience I learned while working with customers that are upset, being detail-oriented, and I am proud to say that I am also very reliable with my attendance. I hope with my past experience it can help me land a job with your company and for me to showcase my experience to help the company achieve their goals and missions.
