Assalamu Alaikum. The ICCD Newsletter is looking for a new group of individuals who would be interested in taking up a volunteer position for the newsletter, with a passion of serving their Islamic community. We are looking for mostly high school and college students who would be willing to make a one year commitment towards the newsletter. In order for this newsletter to be successful Inshallah, we will need volunteers to fill multiple positions.

Positions are listed below along with brief descriptions of what each position will require:


*Advertising: This job consists of collecting ads from multiple businesses in order to ensure that the newsletter can support itself financially. The person with this position needs to be able to efficiently communicate with businesses, with the responsibility of making sure that they receive the payments from the businesses in a timely manner. The advertising advisor will also need to work along with the layout advisor so that they can create the logos for the business ads.

*Layout: The layout advisor will be in charge of the organization of the newsletter, including organizing the articles, business ads, and announcements. This job will require experience with computer software including Microsoft Publisher and occasionally Photoshop.

*Public Relations Manager: The responsibility of this position would be to take on the task of finding out all of the events/births/deaths/ graduations ect. that are taking place in the community that the community should be aware of. This job would require interacting with other people in the community in an effort to gain this information.

*Print Manager: The print manager will work with the layout advisor to make sure the newsletter is complete with all articles and ads, interact with Kinko’s to ensure the newsletter is in for printing on time, and that the right amount of copies are being made.

*Reporters: One of the most important jobs is that of the reporter. We need multiple writers who would be willing to write up to 2 articles per year for the newsletter.


With all positions, volunteers will make the one school year commitment to carrying out their positions, along with the responsibility of attending the 2-3 meetings that we will have before each issue is out. With the help and support of all, we hope to see this newsletter reach success and prosper, and I will be here along the way as a guide to make sure that we can make that happen Inshallah.
