“My name is Nicolo Caezar Padilla from Iligan City, Philippines. I started my career as an Addiction Case Manager in a private rehabilitation facility in Davao City, Philippines. As our clients were in-housed, I was tasked to create their treatment plans, track their progress, behavior, and make sure that they follow through with their treatment plan on their road to recovery. I also coordinate with their families to ensure that they are educated with their loved ones’ situation and prognosis. I also gave out lectures to our clients for them to have a better understanding of their situation and what they need to do to move forward with their recovery.
After almost 2 years in the field of psychology, I decided to shift to a corporate setting where I was assigned as a Recruitment Associate in a multi-national BPO Company. We hired Representatives for US based clients and ensured that candidates were sourced, screened, processed and onboarded. We also coordinated with the Clients themselves to have a better understanding of their needs and standards to deliver the best hires for their accounts. Part of what I did was to screen resumes, conduct initial and final interviews, give out job offers, follow through with their requirements, source candidates through online platforms or job fairs, make daily reports, coordinate with other departments for account-specific tests, and turn over for onboarding.
After which, I was promoted as a Specialist under the Human Resources Department. My tasks include conducting orientations and onboarding to newly hired employees, generating reports for employees’ compliance on government numbers, facilitating disciplinary conferences, validating case endorsements from operations, labor cases, issuing communications and memos to employees, handing out incident reports and resolving employee disputes. My leaders might have really seen potential in me as they then promoted me again as a Supervisor, this time taking care of 2 Associates. My tasks included making sure my Associates were successful in their roles through the quality of output they made and how well they functioned as a multifaceted human being. This role also paved the way for me to have more coordination with different account and department leaders, up to the Executive Levels, to ensure that quality standards are maintained and the business runs efficiently and smoothly despite challenges or opportunities.
What I enjoyed the most during my work experiences was seeing my colleagues and clients grow as people, who might have started as shy and green individuals but later on developed into empathetic human beings with self-confidence and competence.''
