"“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. – Lao Tzu”

In September of 2009, I stepped out of my comfort zone and sailed away into a unique and life-changing experience. I joined the team of crew and volunteers in one of GBA Ships fleet, MV Doulos. It is the World’s Oldest Floating Library with a slogan of Bringing Knowledge, Help and Hope. I started my career as a staff in the book fair. On my sixth month I was promoted to be part of the team in Human Resource Department (Personnel Division) as Executive Assistant to the Director.

Moving forward, I was transferred to another department within the organization as Secretary to the Public Ministries Director and coordinator to the project teams both onboard and onshore. It is the job that made me fall in love in administrative work and projects. It is the blossoming time of my career where I meet dignitaries, diplomats, business leaders, and politicians. Provided with work experience and trainings in handling different tasks in the Project Team office, I was appointed to my last assignment in coordinating the visit of MV Logos Hope to the Philippines. With confidence along with numerous failures and bucket of tears the project was deemed successful.

Transitioning back in my home country, I have faced a slump in my career where I lost determination, direction, and a purpose. Needed to live life back to normal I made myself a Jack of all trade but master of none. I worked as a teacher, researcher, private tutor, and lastly, a customer care specialist in those couple years. Soon after, I landed an opportunity to work in the United Arab Emirates as an Executive Assistant to the General Manager of TRYP by Wyndham Hotel Abu Dhabi.

“Success is a journey not a destination.”

TRYP by Wyndham Hotel Abu Dhabi a place where were I have truly grown as an individual, tested my limits and stretched my capabilities. From handling phone calls, emails, to assisting VIP guest/s, working on permits, licenses, visas, and all other administrative work led me to believe I am an Octopus (just kidding!). I have discovered the essence of Multi-tasking effectively. Stepping in as In-Charge of Human Resource Department when our manager left unleashed the leader in me.

“Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life.”

Looking back, I am grateful for the learnings and experiences I have gained.

Looking forward to what I can be and what I can contribute for the betterment of the future organization I will be part of."
