"My name is Joanne Yarre, and I have been working for about 18 plus years. I have dealt with different kinds of people wherein I learned lessons and experiences that no amount of money can buy.
I was just freshly out of college when I got hired as a Purchasing Assistant wherein I learned to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Taught me how to bargain and get the right pricing for items that I have never heard of before. I was happy and content until I heard of the BPO industry. It seemed fun and more enjoyable. And that made my journey productive and fun.
I started as a Customer Service Representative and made my way up to the ranks. I had fun and met different kinds of people along the way who taught me lessons in life. I handled calls, chats, and emails. Multitasking was the name of the game.
As much fun and happy in the BPO industry as I was, I got a much nicer offer, to work from home. Just thinking of no commute and no traffic was like heaven already. I was part of a startup Online Shopping company with 15 agents, and as time pass we grew up to 150+ agents. I was given different tasks. From taking calls, chat and doing emails, to handling teams, to Recruitment and HR jobs. The company lasted for 6 years until it shut down. It was really fun working in the comfort of my home.
I have met mentors, colleagues that became friends as time passes. I was taught how to use AVAYA, Five9, Zendesk, Timpani, VICI dial as platforms to get in touch with customers. Throughout the years, I have seen my agents became Team Leads, Account Managers, QAs and move up in the ranks which made me proud, when they call or text me and give me their news."
