CAMP 2012 Application
We believe that real progress in the city of Detroit will start when we can unlock the imaginations of our communities. CAMP is a program that will give Detroit artists, makers, and thinkers the opportunity to create beautiful and inspired projects the can be displayed at Movement: Detroit's Electronic Music Festival, with an end goal to be placed back into our neighborhoods. CAMP is not only an opportunity, but also a challenge for creators to make pieces that will reflect the heart and future of Detroit, while taking advantage of the resources available that are unique to this city. We are looking for projects that are rooted in fun and that create an experience at Movement that will inspire guests as well as highlight the talent of our creative community.
-Artists can work in any medium.
-Team collaborations, skill sharing and reuse of already existing materials are encouraged
-A vision for how the piece will be used in the future is very important. Think out of the box with this one, could your project be converted into a bus stop? Activate an unused or under utilized space? Add color to a neighborhood? (If the piece can be broken down and used for other projects that is acceptable as well, just be thorough in the explanation.)
-Only those who wish to lead a team need to complete a proposal to receive funding. (if you would like to participate as a volunteer please email campdetroit@gmail.com)
-Be thorough in description and sketches, we need to know what you are doing and how you are going to make it happen. We would rather you go over the limits a little bit then under sell an amazing idea. Be creative in your presentation!
Artist should indicate in writing a strong connection to the city of Detroit if not a current resident.
