Healing Through The Arts Open Studio: Drama
a partnership project between Participation House Support Services, Hutton House, L’Arche London, & the London Arts Council — funded by the Province of Ontario’s Strategic Program Investment Fund

www.londonarts.ca/healing-through-the-arts

Healing through the Arts aims to celebrate the resiliency and spirit of people returning home to their communities after years of living in institutions. Through six-week 'open studios,' the project encourages participants from diverse backgrounds to build meaningful relationships and to celebrate each other's gifts through arts activities that draw on their stories, experiences, and ideas.

Program Structure

'Open studios' are accessible spaces that foster creativity and participation regardless of skill level and provide an atmosphere of conversation, encouragement, and freedom of expression. Each studio integrates small groups in a community setting, including 2 participants with disabilities, 2 of their family members or support workers, and up to 4 community participants. Community participants of all dramatic and theatrical skill levels (beginner to advanced) are welcome.

Each studio is facilitated by a professional artist-educator (from the London Arts Council’s LAIR program) and includes 6 two-hour sessions.

Registration

Registration and participation are free. You may register for multiple sessions at once. Once registered for a six-week session, you may attend any or all of the dates in that session.

You will be notified regarding the status of your registration within a few days of submitting this form. When registration for a particular session is full, applicants will be added to a wait-list and contacted about participating in later sessions in drama.
