"I have been a healthcare representative at a BPO company for a medical account for 1 year where I handled accounts like Wellpoint Provider Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield healthcare accounts and my main responsibility includes assisting providers in checking and verifying their patient’s coverage and eligibility.
I have also been a Virtual Healthcare Assistant for a Dental Insurance Company based in New York for almost 8 months. My daily task involves calling out different insurance companies such as Delta Dental, Metlife, Cigna, UHC, Aetna, and such to verify patient’s eligibility and benefits, including verifying their coverage for different CPT codes. After verifying that the patient’s plan is active and has dental coverage, I will put the information gathered on a designated template depending on the patient’s desired location for the treatment. Then after filling up the template, I will upload the benefit summary and breakdown summary in Dentrix and will update the patient’s insurance plan depending on the used/accumulated deductible and maximum amounts for billing purposes.
