“I’ve been in the BPO industry for 8 years now and have been with some service providers in the US for the long time. I used to be an ESL teacher as my part time before. I did teaching English to young and adult Japanese learners. I'd been there for just about 6 months but I've learned how to be very patient and make some strategies to teach my students effectively. I've handled sales, customer service and basic tech support in the past. My first BPO experience was with a travel account and I worked there as a Sales Executive for two years. Duties at this company included assisting different customers calling in to ask help for the account and its affiliates, answering all the customer's queries, booking a hotel, flight, car and package reservation, and complying accordingly with the metrics. I've learned that having compassion and giving out extra mile effort to help would make the customer realize the best value of what you're selling and it would be easier for the agent to make a sale. My 2 year stay at this company was meaningful yet full of pressure. I decided to resign to look for a higher compensation so I applied and got a better offer working for a Satellite TV provider. I’d been with this company for almost 6 years. Along with TV, we also offer Internet and phone services through our telco partners. During my tenure there, I’ve developed a lot of important skills that an agent should have. These were organizational skills, the ability to perform well in a team, leadership skills, the ability to overcome so much pressure from the management and the ability to deal with different kinds of customers. My experience at this company with all the trainings and coaching, have provided me with extensive knowledge of how to sell and upsell services to potential clients. Staying at the company for almost 6 years had been so tough yet fun. I enjoyed the work environment, the management and my colleagues were nice. Also, if you hit the goal and get the incentives, it’s so rewarding.
