"I am Sharmil Ahmed, residing in Las Pinas, Philippines. I am currently working in the BPO industry and have been for almost 4 years.
My first work experience was an opportunity to work for Future Perfect. The company develops and assesses communication skills commonly used for BPOs. Although I was an intern, I've gotten the chance to assist in the process of giving assessments to companies looking to improve the communication skills of their employees. I was also an acting assistant, wherein I scheduled activities and meetings from business calls to arranging flights.
After a year of my internship, I applied as a customer service representative. The first account was an American account for Synchrony Bank, wherein I handled Walmart and Sam's Club credit card holders. My role as a Customer Service Specialist was to aid customers with their payments that did not go through and sorted issues regarding the cards like missing payments, transaction history, and any information relating to the purchases they've made on the card. I was cross skilled to approve credit limit increases and took payments for accounts that were due.
After this, I took a break from the industry and joined SIT Corporation. They are an import export group in the Philippines and there, I work alongside the International marketing director. I was the point person for all our international transactions and act as a business relations officer. I did tasks from setting up meetings to sending out quotations and looking for prospective buyers and created client engagements.
I am currently working with an Australian account for Classic Holidays and Freedom Leisure Finance, wherein I am a collections officer. I collect on accounts that are due and in arrears and process payments for travel and bookings. I also do underwriting, wherein I approve loan applications. Working within Berkshire, I also help with internal matters such as employee relations and business development structures even though it is outside my job description.
