"I’ve been with different lines of business in my 8 years of employment: healthcare, customer service, learning & development, and construction. As a registered nurse, it was my priority to practice what I have learned in school and was given an opportunity to work in a hospital (Anecito T. Pesante Sr. Memorial Hospital) from 2011 to 2012. Due to financial difficulties, I opted to work for a BPO company (TeleTech) to support my family.
2012 was the year I started to work as a Customer Care Professional (CCP) who happens to support the behavioral health side of UnitedHealth Group (UHG) – Optum, formerly known as UBH (United Behavioral Health). I learned a lot from working as a CCP for a year – the importance of HIPAA, proper way of taking calls, how insurance works, benefit and claims process, effective communication, dealing with people at work, and being able to work on my KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). It was 2013 when the account offered an opening for a Product Trainer, I applied and was hired. I supported the account by conducting new hire training, up-training, collaborating with the team to revise our curriculum, taking calls, attending weekly & monthly meetings, creating job aids, blasts, and even my own training materials. This is where I was able to develop my skills in using different Microsoft Office Tools. I supported the account up to November 2015.
December 2015 was the time I decided to try my luck by working outside the country. I worked in the construction industry (Planning and Scheduling) in Hong Kong for a year (2016) and I went back to the Philippines to work as a Nurse and a Safety Officer from 2017 – 2018. The BPO industry has always been kind to me so when the opportunity to work as a Specialist for an another BPO company (iQor), I applied and was hired. I am currently supporting a telecommunications company (T-Mobile) as a part of their Team of Experts for almost a year now."
