Here's good advice for collectors of militaria who are thinking about buying pieces on eBay:
* Always get an inspection period for any item you buy. Whether it is one day or five days, it is your only chance to insure that the item is authentic.
* Don't be shy about asking sellers questions about the item. eBay makes it easy to do this. Also, ask other eBay members on community chat rooms who may have more experience or knowledge. You can also make contacts with collectors you can trade with.
* Avoid items that are sold as "all sales final" or "no returns." This is shorthand for the fact that the seller got stuck with the item and now it is your turn.
* If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!
