“I am currently ending my work in a US home-based company. I perform several tasks there where the need of work arises. One of the tasks I do is perform doctor marketing calls, due to the COVID 19 crises, pharmaceutical sales representatives have been limited to visit doctor’s offices, so we call doctor’s offices to ask permission to send product information or brochures, patient materials, and sample forms. At other times, I also do back office work of doctor research, where we search online for the location of doctor’s offices, call the office and ask if the patient was seen by the doctor there before we send a signed prescription request. I also do fax research work by calling doctor’s offices to ask and verify fax numbers. I also send email of signed prescription requests to doctor’s offices for those who do not allow fax or calls. I also do fax mapping, where we match the faxes received to the correct order request. Another task I do is call patients and verify accurate doctor information if the doctor has retired or moved to a different clinic. I enjoy doing these tasks because they are varied and it makes me make sure I’m doing the correct process for every task.
Previous to working for the company above, I worked as a medical records retriever. We call doctor’s clinics or facilities to send and request for patient’s medical records for their insurance or legal claims. I was also assigned to call patients, to send and ask them to sign the authorizations that were required for us to be able to retrieve their medical records. I enjoyed this work because I find this work noble and valuable. Patients who are not able to work due to their health condition, badly needs financial help from their insurances so they can continue paying their bills and purchase their needs. Thus retrieving their medical records as soon as we can is very crucial.
I also had an experience in the banking industry where I worked in the auto-loan department. We receive and resolve patient inquiries about their auto-loan bills. I believe I was assigned here due to the previous work experience of working in an account that deals with automobiles. There I was also assigned in the billing department and was also given the responsibility to transfer minutes from their old vehicle to the new vehicle they had just purchased.
From all these work experiences, I have developed good communication skill of handling customer’s inquiries and resolving their issues. I have also gained understanding not only of the US auto-industry but also the US medical industry. '
