“The other two years of my career in customer service revolved around account management. During my first year, I was an Account Representative providing secondary support to Account Executives by means of lead generation, appointment setting, contract reviews, and sending out invitations to our partner retailers that avail of our services in human resource and payroll management. Several months later, I received and took on an offer from a leading technology distributor to work as an Account Executive handling campaigns involving lead generation, customer retention, sending out invitations for our webinar series, appointment setting for sales opportunities, and customer relationship management in general. During these two years I learned how to create, manage, update and maintain different customer databases and profiles using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software like Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, as well as utilize online calendars such as Calendly, Google and Outlook Calendars and Microsoft Teams which greatly helped me keep track of opportunities in our pipeline. Increase in customer retention, high conversion rates in appointment-setting that resulted in increase in sales were a few of my successes in working in this field.
Lastly, I dedicated three years in government service as a Research Analyst in the head office of one of the leading government agencies in the country. As a Research Analyst, I was the secondary person in charge of monitoring the performance and efficiency of our regional offices in implementing one of our key programs called Small, Medium Enterprise Roving Academy (SMERA) which aimed to provide skills development workshops and marketing development, among others. I also provided comments and recommendations for the improvement of existing and creation of new policies and programs for the development of our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Additionally, I was put in charge of facilitating the creation and formal signing of Memorandum of Agreements as well as Memorandum of Understandings between our agency and other public or private partners. Looking back, I believe my greatest accomplishment during my service was when I was elected as the Liaison Officer (LO) for the Minister of Trade and Industry of Malaysia during the 31st ASEAN MSME Summit where the Philippines was the host country. I see this as my greatest accomplishment because being the LO of one of the highest officials of another country takes a lot of responsibility, focus, and requires a lot of preparation and commitment as well consistency in always being on my feet and not falling into the huge pressure that could have easily led me to failure of fulfilling my duties."
