“I have been in the BPO industry for 11 years now. I started working at the age of 17 with Arriba Telecontact Inc. in Cagayan de Oro City. I was profiled to an outbound campaign, calling leads to conduct a survey for a free magazine subscription. I was promoted as Performance Coach after a year, but I resigned after 2 years to look for better opportunities in Cebu.
So I joined Aegis People Support in 2011 and was profiled to a financial account. There was a change in the management and for some reason, I wasn't happy with the account anymore, so I decided to resign and apply for Convergys. Consequently, I was hired in April 2012 and stayed with them for almost 6 years. I was profiled to a telecom company, Sprint, to be exact. We were called universal agents then since we do almost everything from customer service to technical support to sales. Having joined Convergys and being a former Sprinter--as they coined-- is one of the most fulfilling experiences I have had in my career in the field.
Through Sprint, I have learned to be tough, flexible, and tenacious. It played a major part in building both my personal and professional growth. If it weren't for my dreams to fly to Australia to follow my sister and work there for good, I would not have resigned from my post in 2017. For some awry reasons, that dream didn't happen just yet.
August 2017, I started working as a freelance Virtual Assistance/Sales Development Representative with Keeptruckin' Inc. I resigned after a year since I was elected as barangay councilor during the May 2018 elections. I was overwhelmed with my new position in the government and couldn't seem to manage my time efficiently. Then again, I was bound with limited income. So I applied for a part-time job with CleanGroup PTY LTD, a cleaning company based in Australia. I was an appointment setter then.
My most recent corporate work experience was Support Zebra, a locally-grown BPO company based in Cagayan de Oro. I was with them for 1 year. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened. The account I was in shut down its operation in October 2020, so the company had to put me on floating status. I waited weeks, months even, to be re profiled to a different account, until I finally decided to terminate my contract."
