You want your coupon to be user-friendly and not too restrictive but you do want to make sure you're protected. So choose your restrictions carefully. Some general ones to consider are: 1 coupon per customer/per visit. New clients only. Not to exceed $X amount. Not valid with any other coupon or discount. Be sure to include all limitations. If there's not enough space include "SOME RESTRICITONS APPLY - CALL FOR DETAILS."
10-75 words. Indicate if they can just mention it at check out....or if they have to print and bring it in. Must they mention it at time of booking? Do they enter the coupn code into your website? Explain how they use this coupon.
TRACKING IS CRITICAL
We can't help you improve your listing, ad or coupon offering if we don't have "hard data" as to what kinds of responses you're getting. It doesn't have to be difficult or high tech, but it does need to become a habit.
Here are some things you might implement if you don't use them already. We suggest using all of them so nothing falls between the cracks.
- Train your phone people to ask every single person how they found out about you. Keep a tally sheet by every phone and make sure they mark responses down by date. Collect those sheets weekly, date them and file them for later review.
- If you have a new client form or sign in sheet add a multiple choice section where they can choose how they came to you. Be sure to add Natural Awakenings North Texas magazine and NACoupons.com website to the list so you can differentiate between the print and online.
-Always ask if they're using a coupon, and then be sure to collect it.
