    "My name is Venus. I’m a lawyer by profession and a Certified Public Accountant as well. I graduated with my degree in Bachelor of Laws in one of the most distinguished universities in the Philippines on 2016 and was admitted to the bar on 2017. I have had over four years of solid experience in Legal practice. My experiences include, but are not limited to: drafting of pleadings such as Complaints, Answers, Motions, Memorandum, and Appeals; providing legal advice to clients, and representing them before the court by participating in various legal proceedings. I have written pleadings for a wide variety of cases in the areas of Criminal Law, Civil Law, Labor Law, and Administrative Law. I filed the aforesaid pleadings before lower courts, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.

    With my legal background and vast experience in the legal field, my core set of skills are legal writing and legal research. As a practicing lawyer, I have an excellent grasp of the stylistic and mechanical aspects of writing. As a necessity for the career that I’m pursuing, I have impeccable English communication skills – particularly in grammar and usage. I am able to express ideas in a clear, concise, organized, and logical manner and more importantly meet aggressive deadlines. I am a great believer of writing to serve people instead of writing to impress people.

    With my years of experience, I was able to acquire superior research skills and develop the ability to synthesize, draft, and edit complex information; and eventually turn them into legal documents. My familiarity with the legal processes and the legal system, in general, plays a great role in being considered as above average in terms of legal writing and legal research.

    I find writing in legalese manner challenging and at the same time pleasurable. It may seem as a daunting task, but from someone who loves to talk - perhaps a little too much - I treasure getting a chance to say what is on my mind; but this time in a technical manner. Lastly, legal writing amuses me considering that you can never cease to grow as a writer. I aim to be better at what I do; and I believe that exposing myself to more writing tasks will help me achieve that goal."
