Below is a list of the services available to you. To read more information about them and what they include, please see the "Rates and Services" page on this website.
  • see Methods of Preperation page for method descriptions
  • Please list what Branch/Department you or your spouse works for.
  • Client Responsibilities

    1. It is your responsibility to ensure your care provider and/or the staff who will be assisting you during your labor and birth are aware you intend on keeping your placenta rather than having it discarded. The nurses will have you sign a release form.

    2. Take a small cooler with you to the hospital and two large ziplock bags. The placenta should be placed in the cooler on ice within 4 hours following the birth and kept cool until I am able to pick it up. (If you are birthing at home, it can be stored in a bag or container in the fridge on the bottom shelf). In the event encapsulation is not taking place immediately after the birth, the placenta is to be double bagged and stored in the freezer once you return home. Please allow time for the placenta to thaw prior to being processed.

    3. Please contact me when labor begins (or let me know time and date you have an induction or c-section scheduled) and then again after the birth so we can make arrangements for me to pick up your placenta. I am available by phone during the hours of 9am to 9pm. After hours, please use text or email.

    4. Keep the placenta in your sight and/or have a designated person such as your partner, reliable family member, doula, nurse on staff, etc to ensure your placenta is kept as per your wishes and not taken away or contaminated by chemicals or harsh substances rendering it unfit for consumption. If the hospital must test the placenta, ask if a portion may be taken while the remaining placenta is stored properly for you.

Please initial in the box below to signify you have read and agree to follow the above responsibilities.
  • Fruit of Labor Waiver of Liability / Services Agreement

I understand there are no current laws in the United States prohibiting me to take my placenta home, and it is my responsibility to inform my care provider(s) of my plans to consume my placenta (thus having it treated accordingly). Any potential benefits (either those supported in research or from anecdotal accounts) from placenta encapsulation have not been reviewed or endorsed by Food and Drug Administration and are not intended to prevent or treat any physical or mental diseases, ailments, or symptoms. The choice to have my placenta encapsulated is based on my own personal beliefs and reasons, and I understand my specialist - Morgan Jones - is not selling me a product with any verified claims or proven results, merely providing a service at my request. I put full faith that she is dedicated to keeping my health and safety in mind, working with me, and assessing any potential risks, however I understand she is not a licensed medical professional, and placenta services are not intended to replace medications or the advice of my health care provider(s).

I acknowledge and trust that my placenta will be handled and encapsulated according to OSHA Biologix Bloodborne Pathogens standards and is cleaned, prepared, dehydrated, and put into capsule form in a sanitary work space.

Placenta capsules and other services chosen will be delivered within 48-72 hours of picking up my placenta. Upon receiving my placenta capsules, I waive any and all rights to holding my specialist, Morgan Jones, responsible for any undesired effect(s) of consuming the capsules and/or other forms of consumption I have chosen from the specialist. I understand any risks associated with this practice are the same as dining out where food is prepared for me by another person. Other risks may include the placenta not being handled properly either by the hospital or myself during storage or transportation or coming in contact with chemicals in the hospital's pathology laboratory. Since the placenta has been found to contain hormones and nutrients (see the Research page of this website for further details) I am aware it is my personal decision to ingest or discontinue taking the capsules based on either positive benefits or any negative reactions experienced. I understand Morgan Jones is also not liable should any other person(s) ingest my own placenta capsules or products. It is not recommended to share my placenta products. Dosage and storage instructions will be given upon receipt of the capsules and any other services chosen.

There are instances when my placenta may not be available to me for consumption. Some examples include but are not limited to the following - uterine or amniotic infection during labour, placenta being sent to pathology, heavy meconium staining, placenta previa, abruption, or accreta, administering of magnesium sulfate before or during labour, etc. Further details regarding these circumstances can be read on the Benefits portion of this website. If I am in doubt about the safety of consuming my placenta due to any of those or additional circumstances, I know I am free to consult with my specialist, Morgan Jones, before proceeding with any service I have chosen.

Military Discount is for ACTIVE service members. First Responders include: paramedic, fire, police and 911 dispatch.

Please type your name in the box below to signify you have read and agree with the above terms, conditions, and limitations.
