The newest Grand Theft Auto game has been out for almost a year, and its situation looks pretty good. Considering the incredible sales figures it produced early on, the livelihood of GTA V was never really in doubt, but there were some darker moments following its launch last September.

We’ve come a long way since then. The GTA Online mess has finally straightened itself out, although some players are still displeased with the lack of the promised cooperative heists. GTA Online had problems when it launched (and some fans were annoyed it wasn’t ready on GTA V’s launch day), and then a glitch made its situation even worse. Glitches in online games are nothing new, but the nature of this one allowed it to thoroughly disgruntle fans. It wasn’t the sort of glitch that would damage your own game progress, but a way to cheat and give yourself tons of GTA V money. Imagine what it would do to the economy if billionaires just started popping up overnight, and you’ll have an idea of what the GTA Online situation was like in the wake of this glitch. More and more people used the glitch to try to keep up with those who started it, and the whole thing spiraled out of control. Rockstar patched it and cleaned up after it, and now even the search for a new money glitch has faded into the background. It’s finally over.

Of course, that makes it sound like the Online struggles dominated the early months of GTA V, which isn’t the case at all. The game was a huge hit, and single-player GTA V cheats provided a good way for fans to find little tricks without harming anything. The GTA games are always filled with cheat codes, and the codes for GTA V allow you to give your character weapons, make vehicles spawn, increase your health, etc. There’s a hefty amount of GTA V cheats, so even though they’ve all been found by now and there is no money cheat (despite frequent searches for a code that would give players money), you’ll have a lot of fun with them.

Another thing that marked GTA V’s history was the campaign for its launch on other systems. PC fans wanted GTA V on PC, and once the next generation consoles launched, fans were eager to see GTA V on the PS4 and Xbox One. Well, their hopes are at last being fulfilled, as a remastered version of GTA V is on its way to all three systems before the end of the year. This will widen the GTA V and GTA Online experience to include more players, which should be a good thing for everyone involved.

We don’t know if the new ports of GTA V will include any new content (it doesn’t really need it, with how popular the original game is), but rest assured if this re-release results in any additional GTA V cheats, you’ll be able to find them online before very long. And if there aren’t any, at least you’ll get to experience the fun effects of the existing cheats in more detail than ever before.

It’s always nice to see a game overcome difficulties, and GTA V certainly did.
