"My name is Jomalou Padual, and I am a graduate of Mass Communication. I have decided to look for a job right after my college and fortunately, I was able to get one as a customer service representative in an internet service provider company based in United States.
Working as a customer service representative gave me a substantial opportunity to work and connect with different people, and with different backgrounds. Also, I was able to enhance my interpersonal skills and apply what I have learned in college, given that I was just a fresh graduate at that time. I had to face a lot of challenges and make lots of adjustments during that time as I am dealing with distinct personalities. But I believe those setbacks from my first job stretched my character and enabled me to develop my skills in customer engagement.
After a year, I got hired in a totally different industry as an executive assistant. I have been an executive assistant for 1 year. Actually, it is a Record Label Company here in the Philippines. I am assigned to work in the Publishing Department wherein the Publishing Manager is my boss. I am tasked to assist her mostly in managing files like billings and contracts of the artists. For scheduling, there are times that I am being asked to set up her meetings with other clients, answer emails and inquiries about the service we are providing, and assist my boss in organizing things in terms of time management and scheduling. This is where I have gained my knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
