"I have worked as a Dental Verification agent for almost three years now. I complete Insurance forms for specific patients of the Dental office assigned to me by utilizing web portals, requesting faxback, and calling insurance companies. After completing the breakdown of benefits, I upload it to the client's different PMS (Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft).
I have also worked as a Customer Service Representative II for five years under the Dental and Vision account (United Healthcare). It is an inbound account, providers call us to verify their patient's eligibility and benefits. I provide a breakdown of the patients' dental insurance starting the with effective date, the plan maximum, and used then proceed with the percentages of coverage on the plan. I also provide benefits-specific dental codes necessary when asked by the dentist/providers. I handle and answer claim inquiries regarding status and amounts used processes status as well. This includes questions on why claims are not paid, pending, or why adjustments occurred. I familiarized myself with review criteria in order to explain denials in terms that callers would understand. I also provide claim numbers with their corresponding check numbers and verify payments by checking if they were cashed or still outstanding. With this, I can say that I am very knowledgeable about dental claims and dental insurance verification.
