“ I started working as a Technical Support Representative for a Broadband service in the US. I take in calls from customers needing assistance in getting their internet connection back and running. I would then ask probing questions and provide troubleshooting steps that would help them get their service back. Being in a technical account has trained me in one of the most important aspects of providing phone support and that is "owning the call". A lot of times a call with a customer may go astray or lead to conversations that are not relevant to solving their issue. I have learned to acknowledge what a customer says but then politely lead them back to the goal of resolution.
I have also been in the field of Customer Service for ecommerce businesses where I would handle customer inquiry, order processing and returns and refund. I have worked for a group of Auto Glass Repairshops in the US. We were called Auto Glass Experts. As the name suggests, I was required to act like an expert although I don't know how to drive myself or that I can't tell an accelerator from a brake pedal. The key to doing the job satisfactorily is to do a lot of research. I would take note of the car types I get the most calls from and then I do some research about them just to have a little bit of a sense of familiarity.
Most recently, I have been working in the field of Real Estate as a cold caller, appointment setter, and administrative assistant in a remote set up for the past two years or so. I have worked directly for a start-up Real Estate Investor in Florida and California. My experience has taught me to assess a client who has a potential for an appointment. This way I am able to nurture a conversation with the right client and park clients who have not decided yet and follow up with them on a later and timely date. I have also worked for a Property Manager in Australia where my tasks vary from listing management, document preparation, data entry, Landlord and tenant communication, and other admins task overflow."
