Cub Scout Leader Training

CUB SCOUT LEADER TRAININGS

The Nolachuckey District will be hosting a Leader Training session for all Cub Scout Leaders. Cub Leader Specific Training provides the basic tools and skills to provide your Cub Scouts with an exciting and meaningful experience which conforms to the BSA Program Goals and Policies and is required to be considered a "trained" leader.

Leader Specific Training will provide valuable information and enhance necessary skills all leaders need to carry out their functions as Committee Chair, Committee Member, Tiger Cub Leader, Assistant Tiger Cub Leader, Den Leader, Assistant Den Leader, Webelos Leader, or Assistant Webelos Leader. Specific Training helps explain the duties and privileges of each of these leadership positions and explain how they work together to accomplish the aims, principles, and methods of the Boy Scouts of America. Specific Training will also provide an opportunity for fellowship between leaders, an open exchange of ideas and help to establish a support network. Come and learn in a fun and enjoyable environment.
For training it is suggested that you bring notepaper, pen or pencil, a sense of humor, and a willingness to learn.

All courses will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at Camp Davy Crockett.

Registration due by July 25th – $5 per course

PACK COMMITTEE CHALLENGE – 9am-12pm
This position-specific course for Cub Scout pack committee members is intended to provide members with the basic information they need to support a pack and conduct a successful pack program. This course is conducted based on the five parts of a typical pack committee meeting and is best when delivered at one time to all members of the pack’s committee and, if possible, the Cubmaster and assistant Cubmaster. The purpose of the Pack Committee Challenge is to familiarize pack committee members with the various responsibilities of the individual members of the committee as well as the committee as a whole. The goal is to help each pack committee work as a team to improve the Scouting experience for adult and youth members.

DEN LEADER POSITION SPECIFIC – 2pm-5pm
The Den Leader Position-Specific Training course provides Cub Scout den leaders with the basic information they need to conduct successful den meetings. This training covers Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Den Leader and Asst. Den Leader Positions.

*Camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights for a charge of $5 / person. You are responsible for bringing / cooking your own meals. *

**Childcare available during class time for $10/class. Pre-registration for childcare is REQUIRED!!!**
