  • Good communication is the talking with crew, effectively managing communication with coaches, signaling when appropriate and using proper signals on penalties.
  • Hustle is the official's ability to put himself in position to make the call and maintain the mobile box. It is not hurrying. Hustle is getting to the right place to be there at the right time.
  • Presence is overall appearance, ability to communicate with coaches, and his professionalism.
  • Game management is knowing the rules, the overall status of the game, and the ability to use effective judgement given the situation.
