Hello, My name is Mary Joy, or you can call me Joy. I'm 27 years old and currently working as Dental Verification Specialist. I have experience in both the Medical and Dental field. I've been a billing officer for almost five years in the medical field at St. Luke's Medical Center Global City. I usually process payments, resolve statement discrepancies, check the eligibility and benefits of the patient, identify the Co-pay, deductibles, non-covered items, medical coding, determine doctors' diagnoses, and Update billing software with rate changes.
In dental, I do insurance verification, checking the benefit of the patient through an online Portal. If the patient benefit is not available online, I usually do outbound calls and get the whole breakdown to a representative. I also Ensure that frequencies and maximum limits are correct, including deductibles, fee schedule, Missing Tooth Clause, waiting periods, and contracted fees (In/out-of-network). After getting the patient benefits, I will enter them into our dental software (Curve hero), including the percentages and plan notes for essential procedures. For patients with Terminated insurance, I usually call them or send a Voicemail to inform them and get their new insurance information. And now I do training for phase 1 sedation records. Since I have experience w/ medical, I can easily Identify the Asa classification of the patients' medical conditions."
