"I started working when I was 20 years old and I was hired as a Customer Service Representative at Teleperformance-Davao under healthcare account that is operating in CA, AZ and OR. Things weren’t easy at first because I need to travel two hours from my home to my workplace so I would get up very early around 3 in the morning so that I won’t be late for my 6 AM training. As time goes by, I was able to adjust, and things are falling into place.

As a Customer Service Representative, my tasks include taking inbound calls from providers or medical practitioners, from members or patients, as well as from law offices which are very rare. I am very experienced on how to check their eligibility, benefits, billings, claims and I also process appeals and grievance depending on the inquiries or concern of the caller. I also do appointment setting like for example if the patient or member can’t obtain an appointment at her doctor’s office because it’s showing on their database that the member is inactive, so once I received that kind of situation I always do extra mile by calling the provider’s office and tell them that patient X is still active and eligible for the service. My shift starts at 11 PM Philippine Time until 8 AM Philippine Time so working at night will never be a problem to me.

After that, I moved in to another company and was hired as Medical Biller and Appointment Setter. As a medical biller, I was assigned to do claims and that includes checking our database if the claim is already paid, denied, and/or still in process. If I cannot obtain it in our system, I will investigate insurance company’s portal to check the status of the claim. If I cannot obtain it from their portal, I do outbound calls to the insurance company to obtain the status. I also do appeals for claims that are denied for incorrect/unclear reason. After staying for 6 months at that company, I decided to go back to my home town and just last September I tried to work at home so luckily I got hired as an Appointment Setter for an Australian campaign but it ended just two weeks ago because as per the client, business is not doing well with sales. So now, I am trying to get a stable and hopefully a long-term job."
