The Cambridge in Africa Programme is inviting applications from principal investigators in the University of Cambridge to apply jointly with a partner in a Sub-Sahara African university or research institution, for grants from the Cambridge-Africa Alborada Research Fund. This fund was established with generous support from The Alborada Trust, to help researchers from Sub-Sahara African institutions and the University of Cambridge to initiate and/or strengthen collaborations (across all disciplines), by providing funding for research costs (such as reagents, fieldwork and equipment).

Amounts for eligible activities that will be considered include:
- research costs (including reagents, fieldwork and equipment: £1,000-20,000)
- travel funds for exchange visits (up to £2,500)
- research training activities (e.g. setting up a course/workshop in Africa: up to £5,000)

Fellows and mentors of the Cambridge in Africa Programme (i.e. MUII, THRiVE, and CAPREx) are also eligible to apply for joint funds for activities that will add value to their existing projects.

For applications solely for travel, please do not complete the Research Project Costs section, but do complete the Travel Costs section instead. Those applying for Research Costs which include travel should only complete the Research Project Costs section and include the travel details in the budget document.
