"My name is Casey Blanche Madadsec. I am a registered nurse from the Philippines. I have been working as a nurse both in the hospital and corporate setting. Majority of my experiences is related to handling US health insurance. My first job was handling home healthcare services from an insurance company called emblemhealth. I did prior authorizations and insurance verification for the company for 2 years.
After that, I decided to jump out of the institution and applied as a staff nurse in a tertiary hospital which only lasted for 6 months. Then, I became an employee of one of the BPO industries in the Philippines. This time, it's the other side of the spectrum. I was a clinical reviewer where I worked on behalf of healthcare providers to obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance coverage for their patients. I handled Diagnostic Imaging, Surgeries, Pain Management, etc. for a year. I call the patient's insurance, verify their eligibility and benefits, then obtain prior authorization for services by verbally reviewing medical records with their case manager.
However, COVID-19 pandemic happened so I decided to become a healthcare virtual assistant instead so I can work at the comfort of my home. I worked for a doctor in California for a year where I performed insurance verification and prior authorizations for medical services which includes office visits, imaging, and surgeries through outbound calls.
