"My first encounter with the BPO industry was with a company called Microsourcing back in 2012. I was in and out of the company since our employment was contractual; but all in all (without accounting all the breaks in between due to the end of contract and site closure) I was with them for 48 months and had three different roles. I started as a Measuring Technician wherein I measured the area of roofs using a certain tool for insurance purposes. Then I became a Photogrammetric Correction Specialist which meant I had to edit images in a top view perspective to fix broken images of houses, bridges, and roads using Adobe Photoshop. And lastly, I was assigned to do Image Imperfection Identification wherein using a certain software, I would tag all possible broken images from a top view perspective so that the Photogrammetric Correction team can fix them.

When my contract with Mircosourcing ended for the first time, I got a job as a Travel Expert with Teleperformance. While in that position, I’d receive calls from customers who’d want to either confirm, book, or make changes to their travel, hotel, and/or car reservations. This was my first time working in a Voice account and dealing with actual customers over the phone. This was back in 2013.

In 2017 when I again parted ways with Microsourcing, I was hired in a company called Convergys. While there I was a Billing Specialist. In that role, I took calls and read ledgers when customers had questions and complaints in regard to their billing statements. I also had to process compensation in the form of credit or vouchers if there were indeed errors in their statements. I was with the company for four months.

My third and final tenure with Microsourcing ended in late 2019 due to site closure. They gave us an option to move to the company’s site in India, however I refused and opted to work for a company called ePerformax in 2020. While there, I was a phone agent. Calls were mostly outbound and I had to convince customers to get a credit repair consultation from our partner companies. Most customers would initially refuse since their main goal was to just get a loan. However due to their low credit scores, our partner lenders would usually refuse to give them offers. That’s when we call them to transfer them to our credit repair partners instead. This was really challenging since it had to do with a lot of rebutting and it was my first outbound campaign but it did help a lot in improving my communication skills. I was working onsite during the pandemic and later worked from home. I was with them for a year."
