Grocery Store Botany

We started the conversation at the Botanical Garden, now we'd like for you to continue it.

Choose a food item (packaged, prepared or your own recipe) that has two plant derived ingredients (i.e. a fruit, vegetable, seed, grain, nut, bean), and fill out the following information. Please make sure to read the instructions under the text boxes.

  • Use Google maps to estimate this. Try to estimate by adding the distances of the origin of the ingredients plus the distance to where they product was produced if applicable.
  • Describe any environmental concerns you have with this food. If the food you chose is a sustainable choice explain why. Are the workers who harvest/prepare this food treated fairly? Answers should be 200-400 words. You can use reputable internet sources, but answers should be in your own words, not copy pasted from source. Include links to sources you use (not included in word count)
