    PROGRAM INFORMATION

    Youth Leadership New Braunfels is a program that includes seven school-day class sessions October through April. Attendance is expected at all class sessions. Proper attire is required at all class sessions. The program begins with an Orientation Reception on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Landmark Lofts. A mandatory all day (8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) retreat is Saturday, September 9, 2017 at T Bar M Camps. If you should be selected for Youth Leadership New Braunfels Class of 2018, be sure Saturday, September 9 is not a conflict.

    Your parent/guardian and school administration must give their permission for you to participate in Youth Leadership New Braunfels.

    APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    - Answer each question on the application completely
    - The completed application with the required approval and three references must be received by June 8, 2017. (The three required references include: 1. A high school teacher, 2. A high school administrator or counselor, 3. A person other than school personnel, not family.)
    - It is your responsibility to see that all three references are complete and returned. If all references are not complete and returned by June 8, 2017, you will not be considered for the program.

    ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA

    Tenth and eleventh grade students who attend New Braunfels High School, Canyon High School or a local private school (residing within the NBISD or CISD attendance zone), with at least a “B” average, are eligible to apply. Participants are chosen by the Youth Leadership New Braunfels Selection Committee based upon the information provided in their application. The committee seeks a diverse group of students who demonstrate leadership potential and are motivated, creative, and interested in developing leadership skills and a sense of community. Tuition for the program is $175, payable upon acceptance to the program (partial financial assistance may be available).
