Fairbanks Kiwanis Scholarship
The Kiwanis Club of Fairbanks welcomes your application to compete for the Kiwanis Scholarship. This scholarship is intended to honor and reward a student who has shown extraordinary achievement in academics, extracurricular activities and community service, while demonstrating leadership, perseverance and resourcefulness.

There is one scholarships available for $1,000, and will be awarded to the most deserving applicants as determined by the Kiwanis Club of Fairbanks, Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is awarded without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, or disabilities.

Applicants must be a graduating senior of an accredited high school in the Fairbanks North Star Borough or a University of Alaska Fairbanks Undergraduate. Applicants must be a United States citizen or legally authorized alien.

Applications will be ranked based on 100 points maximum as follows:

Community Service Activities
Extra-Curricular Activities
Leadership
Perseverance and Resourcefulness
Academic performance


The scholarships will be awarded directly to the recipients upon proof of enrollment in an accredited college, university, or trade school. The scholarship may be withdrawn if not used by the student within two (2) academic years of the award.

Copies of awards and honors indicating achievements in scholarship, leadership, athletics, community service or other activities may be emailed to fairbankskiwanis@yahoo.com.


Please email three letters of recommendation. Letters should be from an adult non-family member (for example: teachers, coaches, scout leaders, employers, religious leaders), that attest to your accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, participation in extra-curricular activities, community service, perseverance, and/or resourcefulness. All attachments must be emailed to fairbankskiwanis@yahoo.com, please include full name in all correspondence.
