"I have been working for 35 years during which time I raised a family of four daughters. The breadth and depth of my work and life experiences are the most rewarding aspect of my life and also my greatest asset. In my corporate life, I have been through all the levels from being a front-liner to being in the executive arena. I have fired people and I have been fired myself. I have made number based decisions and made compassion based decisions. All of these decisions came wrapped in the cacophony of raising four girls. The end result is a score card that will show more failures than successes.
It is these very failures that are also the keys to my recent successes and ability to work with unexpected situations. My success at Guthrie Jensen required me to work with executives in local and multinational companies of all sizes. Being able to address learning gaps or design comprehensive learning roadmaps required an ability to quickly understand the difficulties each situation had to contend with. The rewards came when targets were reached and more importantly you were called upon either to consult or work on a new project. Another great example of how lessons learned from my past failures gave me the skills to deal with difficult situations was when COVID-19 struck. The ability to bounce back is now an essential skill. Leaning how to effectively communicate and relate virtually is now a norm. Personality based leadership skills now became competence and commitment. Such changes are strongly behavioral and it is these skills that my life and work experiences taught me.
"All-in-all, as famously quoted by Mr. Gump, “life is a box of chocolates. ”The objective isn’t to find the one you like the most; but, rather to savor each flavor. It is while savoring these flavors that you will find success. Most likely you will taste some chocolates that you will not particularly enjoy. In the process though, you will be able to eat any chocolate even though you disagree with the taste."
