LaVerne Krause Gallery Exhibition Application
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
APPLYING FOR WINTER/SPRING TERMS: Deadline is November 1st
FALL TERM: May 1st
APPLICATION PROCESS:
The purpose of the LaVerne Krause Gallery is to give students the opportunity to exhibit in a real gallery setting in preparation for their careers as artists.
NEW ADDITION: One week per term will be reserved exclusively for students applying with proposals for curated shows. This is intended to give art, art history, and arts administration students the opportunity to curate and design an exhibition. One of the images attached should include a sketch/floorplan that details the design and plan of the exhibition. Other images should include artworks similar to those that would be included in the show.
The gallery committee determines the exhibition schedule. The committee is a group of faculty and the Gallery Director. Selection criteria are based on the strength of your application, as well as exhibition priorities. Precedence is given to art students and art faculty who are showing student work. Within those categories, MFA and BFA terminal- project shows have priority.
If selected, you will be asked to accept responsibility and liability for gallery equipment and general condition (cleaning after set-up and take down, marketing etc.). You will accept this responsibility in a form of signing a written contract.
If you have any questions regarding this application, please contact the Gallery Director at bagby@uoregon.edu
