"I have 4 years of hands-on experience as a Customer Care Professional and I worked with a US-based insurance company as a claim specialist which take the following responsibilities:
- Processing a medical behavioral and substance abuse claims as well as checking if proper payment has been posted
- Tracking of payments made either electronically (EFT) or paper check. With these, I also adjusted claims processed incorrectly via electronic payment and adjusted those claims accordingly
- Working with medical professionals when claims are being denied for valid reasons; giving them options to get the claims paid and adjusting claims processed incorrectly by making appropriate action for those claims which are incorrectly processed.
- Processing and reviewing appeals filed by medical professionals
- Documenting and creating authorizations for non-routine medical services
- Verifying benefits for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurances which includes EAP program
I also worked as a marketing specialist for a project based job where I sell commercial healthcare insurance package over the demographics of the US and Canada. I collaborated with all the possible leads and helped them find a suitable package based on their needs and flexibility. I even customized and negotiated with the team as well as the customer to obtain their desired insurance package. During that time, I am converting 3-4 sales per week which is above the threshold of the team’s target.
After being a marketing specialist, I have got into this home-based job which ran for 5 months. I worked more than what a biller does which deals with the submission of claims to the insurance company, chasing medical professionals like doctors for medical documents needed for claim processing and authorization. I even assess those submitted medical documents to check its validity and make sure that none is missing. Checking benefits and submission of authorization request is also one of the responsibilities that I have taken care of for the team and the business. This time around, I worked on the other side of the process where I reached out to insurance companies to work on our submitted claims."
