"I started on a BPO company as an outbound agent for a Health Insurance Company in the US. We reached out to households and offer health insurance to families. We also conduct the initial validation and see if they are qualified then we connect them to a licensed agent to the US for further instructions. Being an outbound agent is definitely challenging but since we had the best training, we adapted quickly on how to handle pressure. This account was seasonal so it only lasted for less than a year.
I was cross-trained to be an inbound agent for a Dental and Vision Insurance in the US as well. We entertained inquiries about benefits, eligibility and claims. After two years I was promoted to be part of the escalation team. I was trained to handle supervisor calls and more enhanced training on claims like properly understanding an EOB and analyzing a denial correctly. We also catered inquiries about Service Requests and escalate issues if necessary.
Four years later, I was hired as a Team Leader. As a leader, we had lots of training on how to handle people effectively. I learned different coaching strategies to make the agents efficient enough to make the client stay. This also enhanced my Microsoft office skills. Working on a BPO company isn’t easy not to mention the hiring process. But due to my dedication and hard work, they kept me for almost 11 years.
