"I started my career in a BPO company as a Customer Service Specialist. I handled inbound and outbound calls from Bayer Healthcare customers. I helped them in using their medical devices (glucometer, lancing device, etc.). Majority of the customers were elderly which means they are not really good in following direction, they have hearing disability or they could be legally blind. It was a struggle at first since as an Engineer, I have little to no patience but eventually I was able to adapt to this type of job. My decision making improved alot and most of all my communication skill enhanced which lead me to greater opportunity.

After almost 2 years working in a BPO, I came across on a job posting for a manufacturing company near my residence. I applied and luckily got hired as a Technical Support Engineer. This time, I was able to apply my customer service skill as well as my Engineering background. As a TSE, I handled inbound/outbound calls and also emails from SunPower dealers, installers, and homeowners. SunPower is the leading solar panel manufacturer in the US. They produce solar panels with the highest efficiency worldwide. I handled troublehsooting and inquiry calls/emails. I helped installers on how to install the components, design a system, or simply how to make it work.

After 1.5 years, I got promoted as a TSE Tier 2 or a Subject Matter Expert. As an SME, I was responsible for the product training of new TSEs and also tenured ones. I was the second level escalation of any product related issues. I also attended weekly meeting with our stakeholders is the US via webinar. There's so much skills I acquired as an SME, like people management, training, project management, etc. SunPower also sent me to our US office in California for hands on training. It was a great experience to meet our installers and customers face to face.

Before I left SunPower, I was a Technical Support Engineer Team Leader already. I supervised nine (9) TSE Tier 1. I was the 3rd level of escalation for instances that SMEs (Tier 2) was not be able to resolve issues in their end.

Why do I left SunPower? I came to a point where I want to apply my knowledge and skill to Philippines market. Solar is not yet well known locally but our country has a huge potential for that. I got hired by Cleantech Solar Rooftops as a Monitoring Engineer. My job responsibility mainly is to monitor installed solar systems and dispatch technician onsite if needed. However after 1 year, Cleantech filed for bankruptcy.

Fortunately, I got hired a Technical Training Manager at Wegen Distributed Energy right after Cleantech closed. I conducted training for internal and external customers. I trained them about pre and post installation of the solar system. I also helped our Technical Team in creating design proposal, technical reports, etc. I left the company last March 2018 due to personal reason.

And now I am looking for an opportunity in the online world eventhough it will be far from the industry where I cam from. Why? We, my husband and I, are trying to have a baby. Being in the field and under the sun is not helping us to have one. I need to be at home most of the time as per my OB's advise. I can sacrifice the career that I already built for us to have our little one. And I hope having a career online will help us to achieve our dream to start our little family."
