DEAR MS. AGLUKKAQ. . . . . .  Under the terms of the Heritage Lighthouse Protection Act, the Prince Edward Point lighthouse (aka, Point Traverse Lighthouse) and the Scotch Bonnet Island Lighthouse, both in Prince Edward County, Ontario, are immediately eligible for designation as heritage lighthouses.  As the Minister responsible for Parks Canada, you have the power to designate these lighthouses so that these important pieces of our national heritage can be saved. . . . . .  I URGE YOU TO DESIGNATE THESE LIGHTHOUSES IMMEDIATELY under the Act. . . . . .  These, like all of Canada's lighthouses, are national treasures and need to be designated as heritage lighthouses immediately so they can be conserved for the benefit of all Canadians.  These lighthouses have been duly nominated as required by the Act, and they have NOT been declared surplus to the operational requirements of their current custodial departments.  Yet, these lighthouses have not been designated and they continue to rot and fall to pieces.  Even though the Act allows the Government of Canada to wait as late as 2015 to designate these heritage lighthouses, conservation efforts need to start now to prevent these buildings from falling into further disrepair.  Conservation will only start once the lighthouses are designated under the Act. . . . . .  Please save these lighthouses from destruction.  Please designate these two lighthouses under the Heritage Lighthouse Protection Act. . . . . .  SINCERELY,
